The Pros and Cons About Working From Home

This is something that many people have asked themselves. So much of (my) education growing up was geared towards getting an education from schools, then finding a brick and mortar job to pay the bills while going after my own dreams and aspirations.

Never once did I hear anything about starting my own business or the opportunities and struggles that come along with it.

To be honest, there is a heavy mixture of the pros and cons about working from home. If you do it right, there is no get-rich-quick formula that you can follow. No way to have money coming out of your ears with minimal investment of either time, money, or both. Let me share some of my personal insight into working from home with you.

Why Work at Home?

Many people can come up with many answers to this. My personal reasons were very straight forward. I am a new Mommy and am raising my son and stepson. We live an hour away from town so commuting isn’t a very practical thing. I wanted to help out with the financial income because, well, that is just the type of person I am.

You probably have your own reasons or you wouldn’t be reading this right now. Maybe you are looking to supplement your “day” job for a little more money on the side. Perhaps you are looking to ultimately replace your “day” job for one that you can do from home. Maybe you are sick of your “day” job and want something that is more in line with things you like or like to do.

Whatever the reason, working from home can be an excellent answer to many problems or issues that you have and are looking to solve.

Is This a Legit Thing?

Working from home is a totally legit thing! Yes, there are a ton of scams out that. Many can be identified with their promotions such as: “Get rich quick”, “Easy Money”, or promising something that seems to be too good to be true.

Trust your gut. If it seems too good to be true, more than likely it really is. Nothing wrong with prodding a little deeper into the spiel to see what they are offering, as long as you aren’t giving out vital info like your address, SSN, or credit card info.

How You Can Work From Home

There are many awesome ways in which you can work from home. You can search for an actual job on sites such as monster or craigslist that telecommute or specifically work from home. Many jobs can be done out of your home that way, and you will need the proper qualifications to get these jobs.

Another way, that one that I do, is I am an affiliate marketer. I put links in my posts of products that I use or believe in, and if you click on them and ultimately buy, then I get a small percentage. This doesn’t make the cost go up any for the buyer, it just gives me a small commission on a purchase that you were already going to do.

Wrap Up

All in all, there are many pros and cons when thinking about working from home. Every type of job is going to have good and bad things about it, and it really depends on what you decide on doing as each will have their own pros and cons.

The best thing you can do is choose something that fits what you are looking for, answers whatever problem you are looking to solve, and one that fits your personality. For example, if you know that you are no good at being proactive when it comes to getting stuff done, working from home on your own terms might not be for you.

Final Thoughts

In my personal experience, I love working from home. Once I found WealthyAffiliate.com and looked into it for a good couple days to make sure that it was a legit site, I fell for it. I love the community, the training, and how I can set up my own site while I learn how this whole thing works. I wouldn’t go to any other site.

I fully support working from home if it’s the right fit for you. It has great opportunities that you might not otherwise have where you live, and depending on what you are looking to do, your earning potential could, in theory, be limited only by your imagination.

I hope this helps clear up some of the pros and cons about working from home. It’s a brave new world out there, so you might as well have fun and do something that you enjoy while earning some income. Please leave a comment or question below 🙂 I love to hear from you!
