I have recently been super absorbed with a game that I have had on my Nintendo Switch for over a year now but haven’t played much. That game: Animal Crossing New Horizons.
In this game you are a super cute avatar tasked with bringing the reputation of the island up. You can have up to 10 neighbors, a store, tailor shop, museum and town hall.
You start your life in a tent, literally in debt to the local purveyor. To gain bells (in-game currency) you must pick, shake, dig, fish, and catch your way to profits that are limitless. However, every time you manage to pay off a debt for a recent expansion, or upgrade, you will find that a new offer is there to tempt you back into debt. Don’t worry, it’s worth it. 
I fell in love with this game many years ago when we discovered it on the Nintendo GameCube. My sister and I would each have a house in the world, and we would work together (one of the few things we would work together on) to get each of us out of debt and collect all we wanted to collect.
Fast-forward to 2022, and here I am once again enthralled by the most recent Animal Crossing. They have added some spectacular new features including other island to visit via the plane you fly in on, and a boat ride that you will eventually unlock through game play progression.
I highly recommend this game to anyone who likes a no pressure, laid back, and cute game to play.
One of my most favorite things about this game is that I don’t have to worry about my three-year-old watching. This is a super family-friendly game that is fun to play, but still offers challenges to those of us who like to have stuff to do in games without the stress.
If you are interested in getting your own Switch I would suggest getting it from Amazon, along with the game.
